Aaron Cowan > Aspens along Boundary Creek. I "found" this area earlier in the summer and captured an image in the morning with the then green aspens backlit/sidelit. I had intended to go back and reproduce the composition as well as I could getting the aspens backlit once again. Here is the result.
Aaron Cowan > Morning clouds over the Sawtooth range. This photo might look a little strange. Even though this was taken at 11:35am I managed to take a 30-second exposure stopping down to F/16, setting ISO to 100 and stacking a CPL with the Vari-ND filter. I used the CPL mainly to increase shutter speed but it also helped darken the sky. However, over polarization of the sky is evident in the top portion of the picture. Significant mountains contained in the picture are (L to R) Grand Mogul, Heyburn, Thompson and Williams.
Aaron Cowan > Sunrise on Mount Heyburn (left) and Thompson Peak (right). Thompson Peak is the highest mountain in the Sawtooths at 10,751'.

Aaron Cowan > Morning clouds above the Sawtooth Valley. I had already envisioned using my Vari-ND filter to make long exposures of clouds over the Sawtooths. This is a 30 second exposure with the morning clouds moving over the Sawtooth Mountains.
Aaron Cowan > Sawtooth Mountains as shot from ID HWY 75. Just over the green hills is Pettit Lake.
