Aaron Cowan > Along the walls of Crack Canyon there were numerous depressions, so large enough they had their own depressions. Small arches had formed throughout. Tim had climbed up on one portion and found this and thought it looked interesting. I love the borrowed light being reflected from the upper canyon walls. Cracky Canyon, San Rafael Swell, Utah.
Aaron Cowan > Twilight at Delicate Arch. The best light had been greatly diffused by clouds along the horizon but twilight still gave the arch and surrounding area a great glow, particularly the soft alpenglow on the La Sals.
Aaron Cowan > This was probably the best section of Crack Canyon. This tunnel is reminscent of the subway in Zion (yet much less scenic).
Aaron Cowan > On an earlier trip to the Owyhee's east fork, I found this small "slot" that fed into the river. This time I explored the bottom and top sections of the slot. Not quite like the southwest but still very unique to the area.
Aaron Cowan > While hiking to the Tules, Matt and I came across many vantage points overlooking this section of the river. This view is facing east so as we hiked north to the Tules I had enivisioned getting a view to take in the whole turn of the river. After situating my tripod on a precipitous edge and aiming my wide angle lens downward I was able to take in the whole scene.
Aaron Cowan > This is a section of the larger view of the gooseneck the river takes. This particular section is the southern portion (or right part of the larger picture).

The Tules was not far away after this, however to get down to the river at the Tules took a longer hike up north to descend into the canyon.
Aaron Cowan > East Fork of the Owyhee River Canyon in early morning light (still in the shade). This was a short hike downstream from Garat Crossing. The sun hadn't made it above the canyon walls yet so I was able to capture even light across the scene. I had taken some pictures capturing more of the scene but the bright sky made it very difficult (and less interesting too). The B&W slot canyon photo I have on this site was taken just to the left of where I was standing for this picture.
Aaron Cowan > Sunset above the East Fork of the Owyhee Canyon.
